Welcome to #SummertimeChi!

Every year in mid-January while enduring the Polar Vortex temps that violently sweep through Chicago I wonder why I’ve yet to relocate to a warmer climate. But just like clockwork, as soon as #SummertimeChi arrives, I’m reminded why there’s no place like Chicago - especially in the summer. The official first day of summer was June 21st and Bronzeville wasted no time with events for the entire family.

Boxville kicked off its summer markets on the 21st with the “Soul of Boxville” themed market. If you’ve yet to visit Boxville this year, which is open year-round, we’d love to see you sometime this summer.

The Ida B. Wells Festival was this past Saturday (June 24). Participants enjoyed morning meditation, a walking tour of Bronzeville, and more!
