You Matter was inspired by Threada's personal experiences of not feeling supported as a minority in both academic and social settings. After the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and so many more, she felt there was a dire need to use her platform to uplift children of color and reinforce that they indeed mattered, always have, and always will.
